AVEDA : Cuts for Good fundraiser campaign

“No matter how the world is treating you, if you are caring, loving and kind in the way you treat the world, your journey will be easier” – Anonymous.

The autumn months are often a crunch time for me. It’s the busiest period for some people as the holiday season is approaching. This is the period of time where I get really emotionally and physically drained out. But whatever happens, we still need to breathe and keep our two feet up. Count our blessings and tell yourself that at least you have some control over your lives.
The quote mentioned above was rather timely. Be kind and always. No matter what circumstances you are in. This holiday season is a great time of giving back to the community. There are many ways of doing so. You could contribute back by volunteering, donating or simply support a good cause. Aveda is contributing back to our society by organizing the Cuts for Good fundraiser campaign, whereby $10 of the price of a $30 haircut (without GST) will be donated to the Singapore Children’s Society. Aveda hair stylists from Urbanhair Ginrich have volunteered their services, offering professional haircuts (that are worth $80) in return for a $10 donation that goes towards protecting and nurturing children in Singapore.
That’s right! You could support a good cause just by going for a haircut! Anyway, it’s the festive season. Time to trim your tresses and get a new haircut!

I was there at Aveda Pop-store at Tangs Plaza, Orchard for a haircut to support their campaign. It located at the level 1 of Tangs, near the base of the escalator heading up. It is advised to make an appointment with them before coming for a haircut.
Upon arriving at their booth, I was served with Aveda’s Comforting Tea, which is a soothing herbal infusion of licorice root and peppermint. You could also browse through their Christmas gift collection where a lot of thought has been put into it by Aveda. For every A Gift Renewal For Your Journey Set purchased, Aveda will donate USD$1 to Global Greengrants for on-going Nepal earthquake relief.

I had Steven, image director from Urban Hair Ginrich to cut and style my hair. I usually get the hair stylist to recommend a suitable hairstyle, trusting that they know what’s best for me. I was so glad that I had Steven to style my hair. He recommended that I should go for bangs to attain a more youthful look.

He also did some layering for a more texturized hairstyle.

He also styled my hair using Aveda’s hair product. For professional hair cut that costs only $30, it is really a good deal. In addition, part of the costs would be donated to charity. Good things are meant to be shared. I am spreading this good word to my family, friends and you readers as well!

A perfect gift for this holiday season is their ‘A Gift to Relieve Stress for the Road’. At least for myself, this is what I needed after going through the stressful times. I believe that many of us would find it useful because the aroma is very uplifting!
