The Lianhe Zaobao 90th Anniversary show really came as a surprise to us photographers who were there early to shoot for Singapore Fashion Designer, Frederick Lee’s fashion show. Little did we know that there’s an apparent change of schedule where both Frederick Lee’s and Julien Fournié for Love Bonito’s fashion show were pushed back to an hour later.
That evening marks the last day of FIDé Fashion Weeks 2013 and its a ‘Singapore couture evening’ featuring homegrown fashion designers. So, I was expecting a wave of photographers to be there especially for the Julien Fournié for Love Bonito’s fashion show as it is sold-out event. So, thank goodness I was there earlier; an hour in advance to grab a nice photo spot to capture great shots.
I was also thankful to have met a photographer, Yenny who kindly lent me his Canon Kit II 18mm-135mm lens as my current Canon Kit I lens could not work in it’s autofocus mode. Thanks to her great zoom-on lens, I managed to capture some splendid close-up shots for the subsequent fashion shows. I was so impressed with the function and quality of the lens that I will be purchasing the lens from her! I’m fated to work with a better zoom-in lens, I guessed.
Anyway, the unexpected fashion show opened with a performance by a modern dance group which is then followed by a fashion parade of garments designed by budding fashion designers from both Singapore and abroad.
