There aren’t many Singapore skincare brands which are targeted at treating acne. This is why I was heartened to know about a local skincare brand called Skinlycious which specifically targets at acne-prone skin. I was given a set of their Clear Skin kit and I was impressed beyond measure.
Even though I did not have serious acne problems but I do have occasional breakouts and heavily clogged skin. An after using Skinlycious products for 2 weeks, I can vouch for the efficacy and effectiveness of these products based on the noticeable improvements on my skin texture.

How Skinlycious have improved my skin condition?
Even though I do not suffer from serious acne, I do have clogged skin which sometimes gives rise to the formation of pimples. But things changed for the better after I started using Skinlycious products. My skin is now no longer dry or oily but well-hydrated. Even the pores on my T-zone have reduced in size. Overall, my skin texture has improved.

In the past, she would try all sort of treatments from chemical peels, facials to natural therapies to treat her acne condition but none of them worked for her. Undeterred, she decided to develop her own line of acne-fighting products to alleviate her acne woes. With the products she had developed, she finally got her skin cleared of acne.

Which are the Skinlycious products I’ve tried?
Currently, Skinlycious is offering its signature Clear Skin Potent Kit and Clear Skin Hydrate kit to suit different skin types and people of different age groups.
I was given four of their products to try and they are, namely Gentle Calming Cleanser, Glow Exfoliant, Hydrating Serum and Blemish Corrector.
For the past two weeks, I’ve been using their products religiously – day and night – as I wanted to see how effective their products are.
What impressed me the most is how fuss-free their products are. They are easy to use and apply on the skin. And with their products, you don’t have to pile your skin with other skincare products except for a good water-based sunscreen.
Out of these four products, the ones that worked really well on my skin is their Glow Exfoliant and Hydrating Serum. If you don’t want to buy their full set of products, you can simply settle for these two products. these two products are the game-changers for me.
Step 1: Skinlycious Calming Cleanser
Their Gentle Calming Cleanser is designed to cleanse your skin thoroughly without stripping the natural moisture in your skin. It has this unscented pink lotion-like formula which removes daily grime, calms and rebalances your skin pH.
The first step to getting clear skin is to get rid of any impurities on the skin. This will further reduce the spread of existing acne and prevent new acne from forming.
The formula comprises of a therapeutic blend of calamine, lactic acid and plant-based surfactants.
Step 2: Skinlycious Glow Exfoliant
The Glow Exfoliant is probably Skinlycious signature product because all great skin starts with a well-exfoliated skin. This exfoliant is a leave-on AHA/BHA that breaks down acne, prevents pores from clogging, and exfoliates dead skin cells.
Glow Exfoliant is more suitable for moderate to severe acne. It is great at removing blackheads which explains why my skin seemed less clogged after using it.
It contains the following three actives: Mandelic Acid (AHA) (which exfoliates dead skin cells), Salicylic Acid (BHA) (which penetrates deeply into the skin to unclog pores) and Chamomile Flower Extract (which soothes skin irritations). As Glow Exfoliant has Salicylic acid, it’s not thus suitable for pregnant ladies.
It is best to use this exfoliant with a cotton pad because the solution is very watery. Avoid using it directly on your hands. You may also use a cotton bud for spot treatment.
Step 3: Skinlycious Hydrating Serum
Their hydrating serum is another revolutionary product. It’s amazing how this water-based oil-free serum is powerful enough to hydrate the skin. You don’t even need to layer another moisturiser to hydrate the skin.
The serum is designed to hydrate the skin, build collagen, increase water retention and reduced inflammation in the skin.
Step 4: Skinlycious Blemish Corrector
The Blemish Corrector is filled with potent actives such as Vitamin C and B3. These skin care ingredients have the ability to treat acne, fade pigmentation and boost collagen production.
Unlike the Glow Exfoliant, the Blemish Corrector is suitable for pregnant ladies and teenagers. Both products are meant for spot treatments. I sometimes alternate between the two products. But on days when I feel that my skin needed more intensive treatment, I would use both the Glow Exfoliant and Blemish Corrector.
Before you use any of these corrector products, it is best to do a skin patch test first. Once you ascertain that both spot treatments have no adverse reactions on your skin for about a week, you can use both spot treatments in tandem for faster results.
For some, the products might take effect only after a few weeks since our skin usually renews itself in cycles of 28 days.
Coupled with a healthy lifestyle, your skin texture will improve over time with the use of such effective skincare products. Out of all the skincare products I’ve reviewed before, Skinlycious impresses me the most. And I’m so glad that I get to try these products months before my wedding. Say yes to clearer skin!
