Lately, I’ve been quite sick of eating savoury wraps. Tortillas with tuna and mixed salad could get pretty boring after some time. But watching YouTube videos for healthy snack ideas has taught me how to experiment and be creative with food. How about using tortilla wrap as a pizza base to prepare a healthy dessert?
Presenting to you, my banana and peanut butter pizza toasted in the oven to caramelize the sugars in the banana and to warm up and melt the peanut butter.
Before entering the oven.
After it was being toasted in the oven for 7 minutes at 180 degree Celsius.
Best served with a dollop of Greek yoghurt.
There is nothing quite sinful here except for the carbs in the wholemeal tortilla. Here, I’m using Gardenia’s wholemeal wrap which is in fact softer in texture as compared to Mission’s wholemeal wrap. As for peanut butter, I bought Peter’s Pan crunchy peanut butter because I simply love the bits of peanut texture mixed with the peanut butter cream. Peanut butter is labelled as one of the healthier spreads around as it is chock-full of the good fats – monounsaturated fat and what’s even better is that this creamy and indulgent spread contains vitamin E, magnesium, potassium and vitamin B6. This is perhaps one of nature’s most decadent toppings which is beneficial for the body. Now, you don’t have to feel guilty whenever you lick that scoop of peanut butter off the spoon. Isn’t that the greatest news ever?
