Who doesn’t enjoy a good packet of toasty fries? And are you one of those who enjoy dipping your fries in soft-serve ice cream? At Shake Shake in A Tub, you can relive this childhood guilty pleasure of combining warm golden fries with icy-cold soft-serve.

This local F&B concept has just opened its first outlet at Northpoint City in July. You can find their brightly-lit and cheery sunshine outlet at Basement 1 of the mall where it is closer to the escalator leading down from Yishun MRT.

What to order?

Their menu feature mainly take-away finger food like fries, popcorn chicken, chicken tender and buffalo wings. Their signature item is none other than their fries with customisable seasonal flavours. In addition, they are also offering yoghurt and bubble gum-favoured soft-serve as well as milkshakes.

You can also choose either their shoestring, curly and criss-cut fries which are seasoned with a flavour of your choice. Currently, there are a total of 8 different seasonings to choose from – Mala, Salted Caramel, Kimchi, Sour Cream & Onion, Truffle, BBQ, Cheese and Curry. You may also mix a few seasonings as one to season your fries.

Serve piping hot in a tub

There are four tub sizes to choose from and if you order the giant tub, you will get a free soft-serve dip.

How they fry their fries?

They will first weigh out the amount of fries and feed them into this state-of-the-art fryer called AUTOFRY® MTI-40C. With this gigantic fryer, they can produce warm golden fries within minutes.

Which seasoning to go for?

We’ve tried only four out of the eight seasonings and the seasoning we enjoyed is truffle and sour cream. If you can take spice, do try out their Mala seasoning which is smoking hot. I actually could not finish eating the Mala fries as it was way too spicy.

Shake it off!

This is where they gather their freshly-cook and piping hot fries to drain out any excess oil. The fries are also left to cool before they were seasoned with different flavourings.

To ensure that the fries are coated evenly, they shake the fries and seasoning in a large plastic tub.

Bubble Gum Soft-serve

We were pretty surprise that the bubble gum-flavoured soft-serve has this delightful pastel blue colour to it.

What we recommend?

When it comes to taste, we prefer the shoestring over the other types of fries as it has a nicer crisp to it. To end off on a sweet note, pair these finger food with a cup of Yoghurt milkshake to take away all the ‘heatiness’ in your body.
