Hairtistry : Oway Hair Scalp Treatment

IMG_9534
Hairtistry has just shifted their hair salon to New Upper Changi Road which is about 10 to 15 minutes     walk from Bedok MRT. It’s good news because it is a little closer to central Singapore as compared to their previous location at Tampines. It is located near the coffee shop and you will spot it the moment you walk towards Blk 26.

The interior design is pretty much the same and my hairstylist, Tonny is still working there. This time, he did a scalp treatment for me using Oway scalp products. I really glad that they do use a variety of products which includes organic hair products too.

Oway actually stands for Organic Way and it is under the Italian group called Rolland. They believe that natural organic formulation  will produce real and concrete results. The people behind Oway works together to achieve that one common goal : to encourage a healthy and positive lifestyle. This is also one of my goals in keeping up with this blog.

Their products are cruelty-free and eco-friendly. Their certified organic ingredients are sourced from countries like Africa and Indonesia through fair trade purchase. As such, this is certainly one sustainable green brand which is worth supporting.

First, Oway’s Pure Biodynamic Thyme is used to mixed with purifying rice wax and the mixture was applied to my scalp. The Pure Biodynamic Thyme is for scalp with dry or greasy dandruff. It relieves itching very well based on the feedback given by Tonny’s clients. I guess Thyme itself has soothing  properties to calm the scalp and lessen any scalp irritations.

My scalp can be somewhat oily at times so this treatment works great for me as it also helps to give my scalp a deep cleansing action.

This product does not contain parabens, petrolatum, synthetic fragrance or artificial colorants. So what does this product contains? Only Thyme! Amazing.

The thyme powder is mixed with the purifying rice wax to form this paste-like mixture.

The rice wax helps to get rid of oily or dry dandruff build-up and this would reactivate the scalp’s microcirculation.

It contains Biodynamic Rosemary, Organic Thyme, Ethical Teak, Ethical Mahogany and Rice wax micro-granules. I can feel the rough rice micro-granules in the wax formula too!

After the mixture is applied onto my scalp, Tonny massaged the product into my scalp and then steam my scalp for about 15 to 20 minutes or so.

After washing, he applied the Densifying Remedy which is stored in vials. It is similar to a hair tonic which is applied towards the end of the scalp treatment.

Densifying Remedy contains Buddleja Davidii Plant Stem Cells, which help hair follicle cells to renew and increase in number. I totally needed this as I felt that my hair is slowly thinning out again now that my hair has grown longer.

After the product is massaged into the scalp, the treatment is done!
The whole treatment takes about 45 minutes. I would recommend that you do this regularly to witness the change in the physiology of your scalp especially if you have scalp issues.

You can also purchase Oway hair products like their shampoo and condition from the counter too!

It is ever so important to use the right hair products, trim your hair regularly and lead a healthy lifestyle for luscious-looking shiny hair. I highly recommend this scalp treatment and Hairtistry is one of the salons that uses Oway products for their scalp treatment.
