Highlights of Festive Buffet Lunch and Dinner at Lime Restaurant

    IMG_2076

I’m always excited about going back to the Lime Restaurant at PARKROYAL on Pickering because they offer some of the best local fusion dishes in town.

From now till 30 December, they will be offering their festive buffet lunch and dinner which feature their festive roasts and yuletide treats. The other buffet highlights would be their sumptuous local delicacies like Singapore Laksa, Chili Crab Pasta and Rojak.

    Lime’s Signature Drink

We were offered their signature lime drinks which comprise of freshly-squeezed Calamansi lime juice, finishing off with some kaffir lime leaves. This tangy drink complements the line of buffet food we were indulging in!

    Festive Roasts

Their lavish Christmas spread including Whole Baked Turkey, Honey & Citrus Glazed Ham, Wagyu Beef Rump and Oven-Baked Pork Prime Rib with Spicy Tomato Paste.

Planning to cater for a Christmas party or gathering? You can order their Celebration Set which includes a 2kg Roasted Turkey Breast, 1.5kg Honey Baked Ham and a Trio of mini log cakes.  This set also comes with the sides like roasted vegetables, chestnuts, pearl vine tomatoes, Brussel sprouts and speciality sauces like red wine sauce and jams.

If not, you can always bring along your family and friends to enjoy the festive roasts right here at the Lime Restaurant. Pair the meats with some vegetables from the Salad Bar and voilà!

    Singapore Laksa with Maine Lobster

    IMG_2082

They brought Singapore Laksa up to the next notch by pairing this all-time local delicacy with Maine lobsters. The laksa broth is exceptionally flavourful and fragrant. According to my mum (who is a Laksa fan), this is one of the best laksa she has had. I couldn’t agree more!

    Singapore Rojak

    IMG_2100

What is really special about their rojak right here is that black crispy substance piled up on the plate right there. What’s that? It’s none other than your dough fritters (or You Tiao) which has charcoal in it.

I think the addition of charcoal just adds more crunch and texture to the dough fritters. Other than that, it is not much different from the usual dough fritters.

It’s my favourite buffet station at the Lime Restaurant by far because I get to customise my own bowl of rojak.  I like their rojak sauce which has a good balance of sweet and savoury. It has that added spicy kick to it as well.

And don’t forget to finish it off with a heap of golden dust…I mean crushed peanuts! This is one Asian salad which I could not get enough of!

    Chilli Crab Pasta

Previously, I did not get to try their Chili Crab Pasta. This time I made it a point to try this Asian-fusion dish.

I love the combination with the chilli crab sauce which seems to go well with anything besides bread. It’s spicy, savoury and so delightful. I just wished they serve it with linguine instead so that the pasta would be able to soak up more of the Chilli Crab sauce.

    Seafood Bar

This is another popular station which is frequent by most diners here. It’s a busy station and the food do get wiped out really fast. There’s fresh lobsters, prawns, clams, oysters, sashimi and these mouth-watering sushi rolls you see below.

    Durian Desserts

    IMG_2066

I love anything that has durian in it. Over at the dessert booth, there were two particular desserts which were almost gone. Guess which of the two? Both are durian-flavoured desserts – Durian Gula Melaka Yule Log and Durian Penget.

The Durian Gula Melaka Yule Log left a deeper impression on me because it tasted just like durian purée. There’s a thick creamy layer of durian mousse coating around the soft sponge cake which, strangely, could not be tasted at all.  The sponge cake layer could have been enveloped by the overwhelming flavourful durian mousse which further moistens it.

But if you prefer the yuletide classics like Black Forest Yuletide Log and Belgium Dark Chocolate with Yuzu Yule Log, there are also available at the dessert station. You can also place your order and make a purchase. For, UOB and DBS cardholders enjoy 20% early-bird savings from 1 to 30 November 2018 and enjoy 15% savings thereafter, from 1 to 25 December 2018.
