What I have got to say about Try and Review’s Christmas Beauty Box

Most of you may have come across Try and Review‘s Facebook page or ads on Facebook recruiting for testers. At first, I thought it was a gimmick but no, they are a legit real company who are sincere in getting testers to review all sorts of products. It’s definitely a great platform to look up for reviews who are contributed by people from all walks of life, not just bloggers or influencers. In addition, Try and Review also encourages their reviewers to be completely honest with their reviews. Thus, you will definitely get to read more balanced reviews through their platform. This, in turn, will help you to make a more informed choice about your product purchase.

I personally have not reviewed any products given by Try and Review prior to this. So it is my first time partnering with them as a blogger to review their Christmas Box. So what have I got to say about their Christmas Box which is sent to their Top Reviewer Tribe?

Inside the box…

Try and Review Christmas Beauty Box

There are 3 featured skincare products in the box along with some brochures containing the product information. To add a festive touch, they even threw in a candy cane as well as a handwritten Christmas card.

The three beauty products

The three products are The Skin Firm Pure and simple Gel Cleanser, Mirage Miracle Hyaluronic Serum and Sén Natural lip balm. It is interesting to three products featured are by Singapore brands. I am all in support for local brands.

I’ve not tried products from these beauty brands before so I was rather excited to test them out. Let’s start with the cleanser first.

The Skin Firm Pure and Simple Gel Cleanser

The Skin Firm is a natural skincare brand which emphasises on their use of natural ingredients. It is a local brand, founded by a team of skin chemists, that formulates its own products using natural ingredients sourced from all over the world.

The gel cleanser, for instance, is a coconut-derived soap-free cleanser. Since it is soap-free, it is ultra-gentle on the skin. With that, it is certainly suitable for all skin types, especially those with sensitive or acne-prone skin. It is fragrance-free and contains no alcohol, silicones or parabens.

The product formula itself is very watery, I must say. As such, you don’t really have to add much water to lather it up. It lathers up a little as I cleanse my skin. More importantly, it does not strip away the natural oils found in my skin. Thus my skin is still feeling soft and hydrated after cleansing. It’s a great daily cleanser to be used in the morning.

Sén Natural Lip Balm

This is another local brand that believes in the power of using natural ingredients. They are also committed to a sustainable production process when it comes to their handcrafted lipsticks and lip balms.

This lip balm itself is made entirely with 100% natural ingredients like Carnauba Wax, Candelilla wax, Soy wax, Beeswax along with other plant-based butter and oils. It also contains Vitamin E which is essential for healing cracked lips.

The lip balm is enclosed in this classy-looking lipstick case, so you can still look chic and glamourous even while using a chapstick. It glides easily across my lips and it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling.

In line with the practice of sustainability, you can even return your lipstick case to have it refilled should you wish to purchase another one but did not want the case to go to waste.

Mirage Miracle Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Lastly, we have Mirage Miracle hyaluronic acid serum which comes in a 5 ml bottle. It is one of Mirage Aesthetics’ line of in-house skincare products which are formulated in Korea. As we all know, hyaluronic acid has been receiving much attention in the beauty industry for its ability to retain moisture. It can instantly energise and revive dehydrated skin.

This luxurious serum really melts into my skin. It’s either my skin is super dehydrated or the formula penetrates my skin so effectively. I would think it’s both. For me, I would apply this serum right after applying toner. What I find is that the moisturiser gets easily absorbed into my skin after using the serum.

And that’s what I have to say about the products found in the Try and Review’s Christmas box. Hopefully, more of you will be part of this community or tribe to help recommend the best products available in the market!

Special thanks to Try and Review for the opportunity to review their Christmas Box special.
