This could be one of the most highly anticipated run by all DC comic fans where we all get to dress up as our favourite DC superheroes. I am not much of a DC comic fan as compared to my boo who is a huge fan of Batman. And by default, I am in team batman, of course.
It’s 5 KM fun run held at Sentosa and I was glad that the flag-off time is only at 8 am but there are several waves of flag-off timings after 8 am for those late comers like ourselves. We were queuing up to board Sentosa Express which was hoarded by DC Justice League Run participants. But we all managed to get there in time to complete the run before 10 am.
I remembered being all moody that morning and worse still, I had to spend the next few hours with one of batman biggest fan who came in a bright yellow shorts, looking like a true banana man. (I’m sorry, boo!)
The route was daunting at first because they were several upslopes but it was much easier in the later part of the race where there were more flat ground and downslopes. I completed the race in 35 minutes and 55 seconds though I hope I could complete it within 30 minutes!
During the race, I ran ahead of Sam which he complained that I didn’t wait for him to cross the finishing line together. I wished I could wait for him but the adrenaline in me is firing and I just couldn’t stop running once I’ve started! This just goes to show that we’ve to train harder, my boo!
It’s our first race together and nevertheless, it is indeed fun to exercise with your loved ones and friends. Race on, buddies!
The happiest person on earth that day is the man squatting right next to me in the photo above. Talking about childhood dreams!
