Calling all Health-conscious diners, here’s a new healthy gourmet restaurant (vegan-friendly too!) where you can enjoy decent German meat-free burgers. HANS IM GLÜCK has opened its latest gourmet burger grill restaurant in Singapore, along bustling Orchard Road. It is Germany’s most celebrated gourmet burger grill chain and this is their 50th outlet! Fret not, they also often meat-based burgers which are pretty legit too.
It’s A Fairytale
The name of this German gourmet burger chain is inspired by a well-loved tale, Hans Im Glück. In the story, Simple Hans was an optimistic boy who has no qualms about losing your possessions. He finds joy in having nothing over his shoulders to weigh him down. I would say that he is the modern minimalist of today; materialism doesn’t always bring you happiness.

If you want to go carb-free, you can opt for a ‘naked burger’ where the patties are wrapped in lettuce instead of buns. They also use 100% beef or chicken for their meat-based burger patties, and that explains why their patties are so juicy, dense and tender.
Tasty gourmet options for vegans
We tried several burgers from their meat to vegan burgers. I prefer their vegetarian and vegan burgers because their meatless patties were very flavourful and tasty. Their multigrain bread makes perfect burger buns. Their chicken burgers were excellent as well.

There’s also a bar at the restaurant which serves German beer, cocktails and other alcoholics drinks.
