Steve Jobs: Connecting the Dots

I am always inspired by inspirational speeches by well-known motivational and successful speakers or coaches. They are able to persuade, convince and inspire listeners to get back on their feet and start embracing life again. Being able to present your ideas clearly and concisely to a large mass of people is no easy task. Perhaps the only reason why they could capture the attention of people is the charming personas they possess.

Recently, I came across an online video about Steve Jobs’s commencement speech at Stanford University. Unlike other inspirational speeches which usually last for an hour long, Steve Jobs, co-founder and executive director of Apple Inc, was able to deliver his speech in a record-breaking time of 15 minutes. Summing up the life’s most precious lessons in 15 minutes? It was sure an amazing feat performed by a man who introduced Apple which had revolutionized the world.

Steve Job’s ” How to live before you die” speech is like an abstract of Randy Pausch’s “The Last Lecture”. He delivered his speech with so much conviction in the most earnest and humble way, sending powerful messages to young adults like myself who seek to be the movers and shakers of the world.

After watching this video by Steve Job’s , I was attempted to jot down my afterthoughts. Poetically.

Nature has revealed about the secrets of life.

Like random dust particles bombarding in the air,

Like dots that scattered everywhere

Every leap of faith you take, he whispers

Traces the dots together that weaves into reality

So,let the Genie out of the bottle, he says

Let the fumes spiral through the bottleneck

Embrace the magical moment

Shower under the miracle dust

Be a fool and dance with joy

For you know that  foolishness

Drives away the fear of daring to dream

Think of the impossible

Like the man who has a vision of conquering the world with Apple
