Latte Art Workshop @ McCafé

Your Space. Your Expression. Your McCafé.

McCafé Coffee Appreciate Workshop

McCafe fans would be excited to know that there are full of surprises brewing for the masses from 8 May 2014 onwards! You could now personalized your favourite McCafé drink by adding your own choice of syrup – Roasted Almond, Chocolate or Caramel to decorate and sweeten up your drink for just an additional 70 cents. My favourite McCafé drink is Green tea latte and I believe it kinda goes well with a dash of caramel sauce. Deenise Glitz’s Green Tea Caramel Latte? How’s the sound of that?

I was at Yew Tee’s McCafé to witness the McCafé experience along with other people from the media. It was a pleasant afternoon as we get to enjoy beautiful works of latte art and artistic plating of their newly launched sweet treats – Oreo Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake and Mango Cheesecake.

During the Latter Art Workshop for the media, we get to decorate our own coasters.

The tulip design

There’s lotsa hype about latte art these days and it’s really cool that McCafé is bringing this form of art about coffee appreciation to the table, right into the neighbourhoods. Yes, you could now enjoy a good cup of coffee brewed with only 100% Arabica coffee beans that is prepared by McCafé own in-house baristas.

The McCafé Baristas went to each table to demonstrate how the latte art designs are created using steamed milk and espresso.

The barista showed us how a love shape design could be transformed into the design of a lion too. It would be so fun if you have a hands-on experience of creating your own latte art design!

One of the experienced Barista created 3D-latte art right before our eyes! This is real art work of a latte artist.

Life of Pi?

Next, we get to exercise our creativity and artistic talent in us where we had the opportunity to decorate our dessert plates with the flavoured syrups.

McCafé master trainer, Mr. Hilmi Mohamed, did a little demonstration on how to do an artistic plating. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the syrup and without much of a thought, I just went straight to embellish my Mango cheesecake slice and plate…

How’s that?
The syrups are like coloured paints and the spotless plates that acts as our canvases for us to express our creativity upon.

Next, we even had a hands-on session to create our latte art!

Mine was a total failure but I did manage to salvage it using some creativity.

Swan? Duck?

No! It’s a tortoise!

This was one of the most memorable media event to date and as I was so enthralled by the creation of latte art designs using merely some steam milk and espresso.
