Our lashes are pretty important for us women. Long and voluminous lashes make our eyes look bigger, wider and more beautiful so as to speak. More importantly, it is a tool for us to flaunt and reveal the femininity in us.
Desirable and doll-like looking eyes can be achieve by using a jet black mascara which thickens and lengthens the lashes. Personally, I haven’t been trying too many mascaras as I tend to stick my usual basic mascara by L’Oreal which does a great job in making my lashes stood out. However, recently, I decided to try Majolica Majorca Lash King, having the impression that Japanese mascara usually does wonders to the eyes.
Majolica Majorca Lash King ($25.90)
I’m trying Majolica Majorca’s new and improved version of their Lash King mascara. This new version is formulated with creamy wax and contains an increased amount of volume increasing powder.
Product Features:
1) The Majolica Majorca Lash King contains 5mm super long fibers to help increase the volume and length of our original lashes.
The long fibers adhere nicely on my lashes and it really does lengthens my originally lashes.However, I find that the fibers weighs down my lashes and thus loses that ‘curl-up’ effect.
2) It is formulated with quick-dry oil for lashes that remained curled for hours.
Though my lashes were slightly weighted down but the curl still remains for about 4 to 6 hours.
3) It also contains gentle treatment ingredients for your lashes – Macadamia Nuts Oil, Vitamin E derivative.
I like using such beauty products that beautifies and at the same time provides nourishment for your skin or hair. In this case, I would this gentle nourishing ingredients to condition my lashes.
4) This waterproof formula is also very resistant to sweat, sebum and tears.
It is indeed very waterproof because I couldn’t remove it thoroughly when I swab a moist cotton wool over my eyes. It could also be its strong waterproof formula that I find it quite difficult to remove the product from my lashes using a gentle eye makeup remover, especially the long fibres that gripped onto the original lashes.
How to use (Lash King’s basic application method):
Starting from the roots of the lashes and comb the mascara wand through the lashes in a zigzag motion.
For lower lashes, keep the brush upright (vertical) and apply while moving tip of brush sideways.
Verdict: Majolica Majorca Lash King do promises you that long and thick lashes you’ve always wanted and it conditions your lashes at the same time while keeping your lashes looking long,thick and curled. However, it might require some extra time and effort to remove it thoroughly before you could hit the sacks.
Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner (Limited edition) ($22.90)
I also tested out Majolica Majorca’s limited edition perfect automatic liner.This is a water-based dial-type eyeliner that allows you to line the eyes with a shimmering pearl colour to achieve that dewy eyes effect. It’s a shimmering type of salmon colour that has a slight pinkish hues.
It is formulated with super fix polymer to give clear and long-lasting eye lines and it is very resistant to perspiration, skin oils and tears.You can draw it on the lower lid or the upper lid for a shimmery effect in the eyes. It also makes your eyes look a little rounder and bigger too.
How to use:
Before using the eyeliner for the first time
1. Pull out the pink stopper mounted between the cap and the eyeliner.
2. Press the cap firmly towards the eyeliner completely until there is no gap.
3. Shake well with the cap on. Remove the cap, gently flatten the edge of the felt-type eyeliner.
4. Turn the dial about 10 times (10 clicks) before using it.
Before every subsequent use
Shake well with the cap on, remove the cap, and turn the dial about 1 or 2 times before using it.
Verdict: The tip of the eyeliner brush is really thin so you can line your eyes with precision. However, I find the formula too watery and I had some difficulty in lining my eyes as my upper and lower eyelids tend to get a little oily. So if you are using this product to line your eyes, you will need to cleanse your eye area as this product works better on a dry skin surface.
Instead of using it as a eyeliner, I actually used it as a eyeshadow base because once the water-based formula has dried, it actually stays on quite nicely on the skin and is resistant to perspiration. The shimmery effect also looks more obvious when applied over a larger surface. It is less obvious when it is applied thinly on the eyelids.
Like the previous seasons of make-up trends, long dark lashes are here to stay. And to look youthful, add ‘innocence’ to your eyes with a touch of shimmering eyeliner. I usually add a little shimmering powder near my tear ducts too.
And that’s how you achieve that ‘kawaii-look’, I guess.
