The weather here in Singapore can be somewhat erratic. One moment it is hot and the next moment, it starts to rain. Weather, like everything else in life, is unpredictable. Because of that, our skin condition may change according to the weather and humidity.
If you are someone who travels a lot for work or leisure, there is additional stress on your skin as your skin tries to acclimatise to the weather. And the last thing you want to do is to board an aeroplane where the air is dry and it leaves your skin feeling dehydrated. So if you are constantly travelling out of the country, make sure to use good hydrating moisturiser or masks. But if all else fails, going for a hydrating facial would be your best bet.
I was back at Indulgence Beauty for my regular facial treatment and this time I tried one of their customised facial, MD clinical facial along with their eye guasha. According to them, it is the facial which is designed for travellers where their skin needed some rebalancing and rehydration.
MD Clinical Facial + Eye Guasha
The facial features the use of this dermatologist skincare brand called MD Dermatics. If you enjoy using their range of products, you can also purchase them to bring home for your post-facial skincare use.
I requested for a skin analysis as I was curious to find out the current condition of my skin. So after cleansing my skin with a gentle facial cleanser, they scanned my skin with this skin scanner.
Analysing the skin
The results below clearly show that my skin is lacking in two areas: moisture and elasticity. So I guess it was a perfect opportunity for me to try out the MD Clinical facial which would help to target my skin concerns.
Cleansing
Back in the treatment room, they continued with the next step of cleansing action which is facial exfoliation using a gentle scrub.
Steaming
The next typical facial step is to steam the face before carrying out extraction.
Extraction
Over here at Indulgence Beauty, they pay a lot of attention to extraction. They believe it is the best way to purify the skin to allow the maximum absorption of the subsequent skincare products used. Thus, they do spend quite some time on extraction, making sure that the pores in your skin ‘could finally breathe’ properly again.
Eye Guasha
It was exactly just what I needed for my tired eyes after many days of late nights. Who doesn’t love a good eye massage?
Cucumber Mask
To further calm and rebalance the skin, they applied a layer of cucumber gel mask over my skin and blast cool air onto my face for about 10 minutes.
Point Facial Massage
They did a point facial massage on my skin since my skin was heavily clogged and they do not want to aggravate the sebum glands which could potentially lead to a breakout.
Soothing Mask
To finish off the treatment, they applied a soothing mask and gave me a good shoulder massage while I lay rested on the treatment bed.
My Verdict
It’s a simple hydrating facial which uses the concept of double masking to balance and hydrate the skin. If your skin is looking dry and chapped, then this facial is exactly what you need right now.
