I’m not a kid but I prefer the flavoured taste of Vital Kids to Vital Greens! |
At times when I didn’t have the time to make a quick trip to the supermarket to load on some greens, I would go for the alternative – taking Vital Greens as a supplement for that daily nutritional boost of energy.
However, drinking Vital Greens alone, for me, wasn’t very appetizing so I would mix up the drink with soymilk and bananas to blend a perfect smoothie for breakfast that could guarantee to perk you up right away, just like how caffeine would do on your body.
One banana only has about 89 calories and it’s a great source of potassium, dietary fibre,Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C. The natural fructose in this fruit helps to sweeten up the smoothie.
To increase the bulk of the smoothie as well as to make this smoothie more filling for the stomach, I would occasionally add a couple tablespoonful of rolled oats. But this step is totally optional.
